Ep. 97 – Are British Elites Behind The Russian Interference Psyop? We Lay Out The Evidence

“I Like To Break Up Countries.” – Sir Andrew Wood (The Man Who Made Sure John McCain Got The Steele Dossier)

Sir Andrew Wood, the man who John McCain admits alerted him to the existence of the Steele Dossier during a secret meeting at a security conference in Canada, once said “I like to break up countries,” during a 2015 panel discussion on how to stop what is described as “the increasing Russian threat to the international order.”
While the media has portrayed Sir Andrew Wood as little more than a middle man in the Russian Dossier saga, the powerful British diplomat and associate fellow of the Russia and Eurasia programme at London’s Chatham House seems to have played a much bigger role. In fact, Wood’s background, his long history of opposition to Russia, and his role in the story of the Steele dossier, makes it difficult not to question the entire narrative we’ve been told about Russian interference, Russian meddling, Russian collusion, or whatever they’re calling it today. At the very least, one wonders why the media has paid such little attention to a man who is such a central figure in the Russian saga.
In today’s episode of the Propaganda Report podcast, we introduce you to Sir Andrew Wood and we analyze a June 2015 Chatham House report titled “The Russian Challenge” as well as statements made by Sir Andrew during a July 2015 panel discussion at The Center for Strategic and International Studies titled, “The Russian Challenge:” Europe’s Future Policy Course Towards Russia Considered

Chatham House Report – “The Russian Challenge” – Sir Andrew is one of the authors.
Sir Andrew Wood Biography at Chatham House & A List of Papers He’s Published on Russia Dating From November of 2008 to March of 2018.
https://www.chathamhouse.org/expert/sir-andrew-wood
On November 14th, 2011, The Carnegie Endowment Published a talk on Sir Andrew Wood’s New Book, ‘Change or Decay’, in which he and another author analyze how relations are shifting between Russia and the world. During the talk Wood says,

  • “it is clear that Putin has no intention of changing course or becoming a real reformer.”

February 1st, 2012 Chatham House Report Title, Putin Again: Implications for Russia and the West’ – Sir Andrew Wood is one of the authors.

  • “The West should reassess its understanding of the nature and trajectory of Russia. Relationships should be based not upon the personal relationships between leaders, but upon a set of guiding principles based upon generally accepted international norms and values.”

In an October 17th, 2013 article from the GuardianWood says, “”The United Kingdom has always pursued a relatively tough, robust policy,” said Wood. “I think we’re now seeing a new realism about Russia on all sides in the EU, free of delusions about a special Washington-Moscow relationship. The EU is now the third leg.”
In a 2015 Paper title, “Russia and Europe in 2015“, Sir Andrew Wood Writes

  • “The Russian stance towards Europe and the US has undergone severe changes, rendering any cooperation in European and other regional security increasingly difficult. With the idea of Western-inspired Russian modernisation gone, and President Putin’s self-portrayal as “strong man”, this is not about to change.”

Hero or hired gun? How a British former spy became a flash point in the Russia investigation. (Washington Post)(Sir Andrew tells Steele that he doesn’t have a choice, he must alert the right sort of people about the Dossier.)
“Sir Andrew Wood, a British former diplomat and friend of Steele, said he urged him in the fall of 2016 to alert the authorities. “The right sort of people” needed to be told, Wood said he told Steele. “My opinion was, ‘You don’t have a choice. At least, you don’t have an honorable choice.’ ””
Sir Andrew, An Orbis Associate
“Steele sought out Wood, the former British ambassador to Moscow. The two had become friendly after leaving government service. A court filing would later call him an Orbis associate.”
“Wood — the former diplomat and Steele friend — said he approached Steele to discuss whether they needed to take further steps to ensure the U.S. government was aware of his information, as well. They were particularly eager to provide the research to Republicans who shared their wariness of Russia.

Sir Andrew Seeks Out McCain

Wood said he reached out to David Kramer, a former State Department official who was close to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and a Russia expert. Kramer declined to comment. Kramer arranged for Wood to meet McCain in a small room on the sidelines of the Halifax International Security Forum in Canada in December, Wood said. There, Wood described Steele’s research and told McCain he could arrange for him to review it.”

Senate Judiciary Committee (Sir Andrew Was Aware of Steele’s Pre-Election Intelligence Gathering)
“As an Associate of Orbis, Sir Andrew Wood was aware of the Second Defendant’s intelligence gathering for the pre-election memoranda.” Page 5.
“After the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States on 8 November 2016, Sir Andrew Wood met Mr Kramer and Senator McCain. As a result of their discussions Sir Andrew arranged for the Second Defendant to meet Mr Kramer, as the representative of Senator McCain, in order to show him the preelection memoranda on a confidential basis.”  Page 5.

Ep. 81 – Will Explosive New Book Bring Trump Down? No. Here's What It Will Do.

Social media was set ablaze this week by the release of a new book titled Fire and Fury that delusional Trump haters believe will finally bring the President down. Will It? No. But it will serve it’s propaganda purpose perfectly.
We talk about that, the Fake News awards, scary tech headlines, and how the media fractures society all on this episode of the Propaganda Report Podcast with Monica Perez and Brad Binkley.

Crimea & the Right to Self-Determination

I first posted this when the mainstream media started promoting the wildly inaccurate  meme that Russia “annexed” Crimea…

Crimea & Self-Determination: The First Principle of the Law of Nations

We Did Not Consent to this Government

While living in Los Angeles in 2008, I had an epiphany. I saw in a neighbor’s window a Soviet-style poster of Barack Obama’s face and wondered what red-blooded American would be attracted to such ominous imagery. The face wasn’t bad, it was the Andy-Warhol-meets-Vladimir-Lenin color-blocking that freaked me out. Around the same time, George W. Bush had signed a law that would, incrementally of course, ban the warm glow of the Edison lightbulb. For me, this convergence of events was the tipping point. I realized the American Experiment had failed. Limited government was a utopian fantasy. No piece of paper, no matter how brilliantly conceived or masterfully written, could defend itself against a central monopoly on the use of force. No matter how limited at its inception, the power would be nurtured and abused until it converted all useful social power into state power.
Once I had this revelation, I gave up hope. I concluded that man was destined for serfdom, perhaps camouflaged as a combination of taxes and regulations, but unjust limits on personal and economic freedom and the theft of the fruits of one’s labor were inevitable in any organized society.
My hope was quickly restored, however, when, <continue reading>

#WTWOF Did he or didn't he? Uncertainty over Russian conversation prompts calls for Oval Office tapes.

170511-en-trump-lavrov-kislyak
This is a picture from the Trump-Lavrov-Kislyak meeting last week. For some bizarre reason, US press was not admitted, but Russian press was. Great job on the optics White House! This sort of provocation isn’t incompetence, it’s a set-up. Maybe Trump promised Zucker continued drama, free content and great ratings for a chance at the best deal-making perch in the world–the quid pro quo for billions in free media from CNN during the election.

Propaganda moves fast these days, so as soon as I read the Journal today I knew I had to highlight ASAP what was going to come out of the controversy surrounding Trump’s conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak in the Oval Office last week. The entire article, Trump Shared Secrets With Russians, pointed to the uncertainty at the heart of the allegations, which made me think the next step would be for the Senate to subpoena any tapes made in the Oval Office, a story line that emerged last week after Trump tweeted:

Here are the excerpts from today’s article that make me think the message this story is supposed to implant into your subconscious is, “If only there were a way to know what really transpired in the Oval Office that day….”
Here’s the set-up:

During the meeting with the Russian officials, Mr. Trump mentioned details about Islamic State in a way that revealed enough information for the Russians to potentially compromise the source.

And here’s the he-said-she-said that will make us cry out for recordings of the conversation (emphasis added):

The White House denied on Monday that Mr. Trump disclosed any sources and methods of U.S. intelligence services or those of U.S. allies.
I was in the room. It didn’t happen,” National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster said in a statement outside the White House….
“These reports, if true, are of the gravest possible concern,” said Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat and a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee….
If it’s true, it’d be troubling,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.)….
We have no way to know what was said, but protecting our nation’s secrets is paramount,” said Mr. Ryan’s spokesman, Doug Andres….
Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D., Va.) said on Twitter: “If true, this is a slap in the face to the intel community. Risking sources & methods is inexcusable, particularly with the Russians.”
Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he hadn’t confirmed the veracity of the Post’s report, but told CNN: “You never disclose sources of evidence.”…
Ninety minutes after the Post story was published, Dina Powell, deputy national security adviser for strategy—and who also sat in on the meeting with the Russian officials—denied the story on the record. She called the Post’s story “false” and said: “The president only discussed the common threats that both countries faced.”
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also issued a denial of the Post article.
A spokesman for the Post couldn’t be immediately reached for comment, but one of the Post reporters said in a television interview that the newspaper stood by the article.

If Trump’s bizarrely self-destructive tweet threatening Comey with secret tapes didn’t make the people want Congress to demand access to any and all recordings made in the Oval Office, this article surely would. Perhaps Trump’s calls for protection for government actors from surveillance, leaks, unmasking, etc., will provide the counter-poise to demands for Oval Office tapes and dovetail in a pitched battle in Congress, as well as, of course, free prime-time content for cable news. (Coming this fall to CNN, the show DC is buzzing about: “Special Prosecutor!”)
But wait…we’re not finished yet! What the hell is this? Check out Trump’s tweets du jour:

Who said anything about AIRLINE DANGER???? If POTUS wants to be perceived as dangerously uncircumspect, scaring people out of the air is one way to do it. (Something is so up with the airlines right now–there’s another #WTWOF for ya–expect some major changes for US airlines.)
As I rushed to get this #WTWOF up and out and went to wsj.com to cite the article, I discovered WSJ‘s follow-up article from this morning. Toward the very end of the article I found I once again got scooped by reality!
Trump Administration Defends Sharing Information With Russia
As controversy escalates, national-security adviser says conversation was ‘wholly appropriate’

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.) said the Trump administration’s initial pushback on the reports indicates the White House has a recording of the meeting.
“Clearly if there is some kind of a readout or a transcript from that meeting that means there is a tape,” Ms. Klobuchar said. “We need to get a hold of that” in the Senate.

Still, it’s not so far along we can’t watch it unfold like the scripted reality show that it is.

Obama & Kerry BEGGED to shoot Tomahawk Missiles into Syria in 2013 but Congress wouldn't let them

Update: Looks like the recent attack was as contrived as the first….  A Quick Turnaround Assessment of the White House Intelligence Report Issued on April 11, 2017 About the Nerve Agent Attack in Khan Shaykhun, Syria.
Theodore A. Postol Professor Emeritus of Science, Technology, and National Security Policy Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Original post: In case you’re falling for the canard that if only Obama hadn’t been such a wimp and had taught Assad a lesson when he had a chance, Trump wouldn’t have had to do it, I offer you shows, posts and a sampling of other items from 2013 when there was a rebel false flag in which Saudi Arabia and Qatar supplied the rebels with chemical weapons (and Germany supplied them with the antidotes in case of misuse) and they used them in Syria against their own people. Despite the fact that it was a false flag, Obama and Kerry were BEGGING Congress to allow them to shoot Tomahawk missiles into Damascus (hawks in the UK were going through the same drill) but Congress didn’t even bring it to a vote, the American people (like the British) were so against it. We were right. It was wrong to do it then, and it’s wrong to do it now.

And don’t miss this:

Look at Russia! (or anywhere else-but definitely not at North Korea or Yemen)

airstrikes-in-YemenThe noise surrounding North Korea is getting louder every day. I know we’ve heard noise from that sector in the past, but it’s definitely ramping up. I noticed it several months ago (December 1, 2016, #WTWOF North Korean Missile Crisis?) and again a few days ago (March 3, 2017: Is “Well-Outside the Mainstream” Newspeak for OUT OF HER FREAKIN’ MIND???) and today we hear of North Korea shooting off unimpressive scud missiles into the sea just to show they could (which we already knew).
I’ve been thinking perhaps all the noise about Russia, which borders on the ridiculous no matter whose side of the aisle you find yourself, could just be a way to get all eyes on the wrong ball–maybe it’s North Korea where we’ll get into a shooting war (or maybe it’s China we’re after by making its satellite North Korea a hot spot – h/t to CF for that scary observation!)
The murder of Kim Jong Un’s half-brother Kim Jong Nam is also playing a role in the escalation around and isolation of North Korea with Malaysia the main vehicle. Malaysia, which has been a target of several highly manipulated stories (the crashes of MH370 and MH17) as well as a highly publicized (primarily by The Wall Street Journal) “investigation” against its prime minister (Is a Coup Underway in Malaysia?), may well want to make friends with the West so the powers-that-be pull back on the full court press.
And then there’s Yemen. It’s pretty simple. We are not bombing Yemen to get rid of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Before, during and after 9/11, in which Saudi Arabia and Yemen played the greatest parts according to our own evidence (see NOVA’s The Spy Factory), the government of Yemen were our allies and remained on good terms with us despite harboring and likely fostering Al Qaeda (not unlike our continued good relations with Saudi Arabia despite their relentless funding of radical Islamic terror). It wasn’t until that government was run out of the country that we and our good friends the Saudis decided to step in. The reality is, Yemen is important to Saudi Arabia for it’s geography, especially its red sea ports, and we are bombing Yemen to get the country back for the Saudis who don’t seem to be able to conquer it themselves. This is totally unjustifiable and it’s a lie and a sin to say we’re bombing that country for any other reason, but that is what our “defenders of democracy” in the mainstream media have been doing all day.
For some deep backstory on Yemen, check out this now-cached and nearly impossible to find (it was for me anyway!) article I recalled reading a long time ago about how Yemen was the first or one of the first experiments the US government entertained in the “failed state.” Prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, the US government couldn’t afford to let a state come close to failure because it would likely fall under the sway of the USSR. Once the USSR fell, the US could let countries go. It would cost the US nothing and there would be no risk of a competitor gaining an advantage. It’s really more of a study than an article.
